I made this baby blanket with Appalachian Baby Organic Cotton. Almost any yarn would work. I prefer using washable yarns so it’s easy for the new mommies to wash their baby blankets.
I loved the way the cotton washed up so soft and it can go in and out of the washer and dryer. I am saving this for my next grandchild.
I used a 7 seven needle but I am a very loose knitter so most knitters would use a 9. Although this cotton yarn typically calls for a smaller needle size, I prefer using larger to make a light, airy and breathable blanket for new babies.
Final size was 28″ x 28″ square.
