Cuddly Soft Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern available on Ravelry and Etsy
Knitting this baby blanket is like going back to my roots. It’s the first baby blanket I ever made as a brand new knitter. If you can knit, purl and YO, this blanket will be easy for you. It’s suitable for beginners but also for more advance knitters that are looking for an easy, soothing project to knit while watching TV.
Begin with a garter stitch border, then follow the clearly written pattern where you will knit most rows and purl a few too. The YO row is simple and adds texture and style. This is the pattern I often take to my knitting club because I can chat away while knitting this without worrying about making a mistake.

This project was knit with Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in these colors:
How much yarn should I buy?
Assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:
- Stroller: 400 yards for 22 x 28
- Baby: 700 yards for 28 x 36
- Small: 1000 yards for 34 x 40
- Medium: 1300 yards for 36 x 46
- Large: 1600 yards 42 x 50
Needles
For my blankets I often recommend Knit Picks Needles. These are the Knitpicks: Sunstruck Options Interchangeable Circular Set. The needles grab the yarn is a great way so they aren’t super slippery and the stitches easily stay on the needles.
