Knit a Blanket & Hat to Photograph Your Newborn

How I love photographing newborns in cozy, cuddly knits!  I simply use my cell phone and let the beautiful baby and knits shine.  Of course a professional photographer will do a beautiful job, but when I knit a blanket and hat for a new baby they are so beautiful and the pictures are timeless.

Look at this beautiful baby surrounded by my own hand knit warmth, every stitch made with love.  Both patterns are free in this post.

1. Marlow Beanie

Yarn

For this project I used about 50 yards of Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn.  And oh how I love it!  It is 100% acrylic it is great for young parents who enjoy throwing the blankets in and out of the washer and dryer without worry.  It simply gets softer and softer with wash and wear.

I Love This Yarn is available at Hobby Lobby online.

2. Woven Blocks Stroller Blanket

Wrap your sweet newborn in this blanket handknit by you.

The Woven Blocks Baby Blanket is a soft, squishable, textured baby blanket suitable for newborns and young children.

I prefer to make stroller sized blankets for newborns because they are small enough to wrap around the baby and also fit nicely over the baby in their carseat or stroller.

As children grow, these little blankets sometimes become the ‘lovie’ they cannot leave home without!

Let’s take a look at how to make this darling blanket.

In this section you will find:
