The Candy Kisses Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy
Knitting baby blankets never gets old, especially when I’m adding to a collection close to my heart! My latest design completes the ‘Kisses’ trio, which started with Tiny Kisses, then Hugs ‘N Kisses. Since things always feel right in threes, I knew one more was a must.
Each blanket in this series includes a signature ‘Kisses Section’—a beautifully textured pattern that’s easy to knit and fun to see come to life. Tiny Kisses was such a hit when it launched, and I love watching the knitting community put their unique spin on these designs!

Needles
Size US 8 circular needles with a 24″ – 32″ cord.
Gauge is not important with a baby blanket. Depending on your tension, you may knit a tighter, denser, warmer blanket. Or you may end up with an airy, lighter blanket if you tend to be a loose knitter. Personally I am a loose knitter. I chose the size US 8 needles based on the yarn that I prefer to use for my baby blankets. The US 8 is the size recommended on the sleeve of the skein.
For this project I chose Knitpicks: Sunstruck Options Interchangeable Circular Set
I use US8 needles with this yarn, which is recommended on the sleeve of this particular yarn.

Yarn
Choosing the perfect yarn is key to getting the soft, cozy feel that makes the Candy Kisses Baby Blanket so special. I recommend using a gentle, medium-weight worsted yarn—think soft acrylic, washable wool, or cotton for the perfect mix of warmth and breathability. For this design, I love using 100% acrylic yarn since it’s super soft and easy to care for.
For an extra sweet touch, try pastel shades or soft neutrals to highlight the charm of the Candy Kisses pattern. A speckled or variegated yarn can bring out the ‘candy’ effect, while pairing it with a coordinating solid makes the stripes pop.
Though the pattern typically calls for two yarn colors—a solid and a multicolored—I decided to switch things up this time and use a mix of colors. I love experimenting, even with my own designs!
The Yarn used for this project is:Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” in Red, Antique White and Navy Blue
How much yarn should I buy?
Estimates are approximate. If you decide to use more than the 2 colors that the pattern calls for, then simply take the number of yards recommended for the solid yarn and divide that by the number of colors that you chose.
Using worsted or aran weight yarn and assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:
Stroller: 250 yards solid, 350 yards multicolored for 22 x 28
Baby: 300 yards solid, 450 yards multicolored for 28 x 36
Small: 500 yards solid, 650 yards multicolored for 38 x 42
Medium: 750 yards solid, 900 yards multicolored for 48 x 60
Large: 1000 yards solid, 1200 yards multicolored for 60 x 80
