Materials used:

1 skein Worsted Weight Yarn.

My favorite yarn for baby blankets is Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn, a brand of worsted weight (#4) yarn. 100% acrylic, 7 oz skein.  It is machine wash and dry and great for baby blankets.

Needles

Interchangeable Needles are the best way to go in my opinion.  I use them for everything.  I have a couple favorites:

1) Options Interchangeable Majestic Circular Knitting Needle Set

They have the same strong and smooth layers of laminated birch that Knitpicks is famous for.  The Majestic needles show off shades of deep purples, greens, and blues along with a distinctive black cord to complement its rich, luxurious hues.

2) Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needle Kit

The Denise needles come in a nice compact case and are approved for airplane travel!  I was happy that I was able to take them on my last trip. The needles come in U.S. size 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5, 11, 13, 15). By joining the interchangeable needle heads into the flexible cords, and combining different-length cords together, each of the 10 needle pairs can make:

  • Straight: 9 (13, 16, 20, 30, 34)”
  • Circular: 17 (20, 22, 24, 26, 33, 40, 50, 58)”
