Yarn
I recommend using a self-striping yarn for this project to get the full effect of the different colors. This yarn from Annie’s Craft Store is inexpensive and perfect for this project. You would need 2 skeins of this yarn for a stroller sized project, about 28 x 32.
Another yarn I have used is Lion Brand Mandala Yarn because I loved the way the colors flowed into each other. The skein is $5 for 590 yards so I only needed one skein for a stroller sized blanket, 28 x 34. It’s available at big box stores and also at Etsy. I prefer to support Etsy designers so I like to buy my yarn from them.
Needles
I use Knitpicks Interchangeable Caspian Circular Needle Set. The needles are beautiful, feel warm in my hands and have smooth joins.
For this blanket, the needle size depends on what weight yarn you are using. A DK yarn will require a smaller needle than a Worsted Weight yarn. I recommend knitting a gauge of 4 stitches to the inch.
