Puffy Pockets Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern
The Puffy Pockets Baby Blanket is named thanks to its puffy pockets of warmth that will keep your baby nice and toasty in the colder weather! It’s great for carseats and strollers. At any time of the year, even in the summer when your baby is in an air conditioned room, this blanket is very useful.
It is a simple 5 row repeat and easy to learn. It’s the kind of blanket that you can knit while watching TV or in conversation with someone. I swear, it almost knits itself!
Where did this little gem come from?
Years ago I found my mother’s knitting bag and in there was an unfinished baby blanket project. A small crinkled piece of paper listed the 5 row repeat for this blanket. I picked it up and started knitting per her small bit of instructions and ended up with the most wonderful, squishy soft stroller sized blanket.
And on top of that, this baby blanket is textured, puffy and reversible! It can be knit as wide or as long as you want.
Use a larger needle for a more light and airy blanket, or a smaller needle for a warmer, denser blanket. The stroller size is 22 x 28. Cast on more stitches in increments of 5 for a wider, crib sized blanket.
You can use any worsted or aran weight yarn!
The puffy pockets of warmth that you knit with this pattern are so squishy and soft, you will just love it! This blanket just zips along in no time at all and is easy enough for a beginner but interesting enough for even the most seasoned knitter!
