I am so happy and fortunate that Roswell Cancer Institute is right here in Buffalo, and that they have a state of the art GI clinic. 2 months ago today my brilliant doctors at Roswell removed the remaining pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that had been hiding in my pancreas and liver. This disease is insidious, usually found by mistake, and in my case, just in time. These pesky pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors start out in the pancreas and then just love to spread to the liver and anywhere else they can get to. And on top of that, they like to pretend they are part of the pancreas and start spewing pancreatic hormones throughout your body. I am so grateful and thankful that after just 2 months I feel this good! This cancer represents just 2% of pancreatic cancers and the particular kind I have is 1 in 10 million. That represents about 35 people in the US. But Roswell’s brilliant Dr. K knew just what to do! Thanks to all who have supported the Ride for Roswell MimiStrong Team to help raise money for a cure. I am so thankful for Roswell , for my family and friends and for these little ones that even if this returns I will NEVER give up.
